 DetailsPlates of all sizes are typically made using stoneware clay and the potters wheel....hence the round shape. You will find some pieces that are an unusual shape. These are still made using stoneware clay however, they may have been made using a slab of clay or altered from a wheel thrown piece to make an unusual shape. Regardless, they are made using lead free glazes & have been heated to over 2,000 degrees in the final kiln firing.
